Epoxy Resin FAQs. Resinzwood Epoxy Resins have been specifically formulated using the Highest Quality Shore E Basics for the starting compound with additives added for specific resin formulations from Art Resin to Tabletop and Deep Pour resins. Resin FAQs Using the highest quality base resins increases the cost of the resin to manufacture, but we aim to have the highest quality products at the lowest possible price so you, the consumer, get the best results no matter what resin you are using. Resin Wood Tables has the highest performing epoxy resins, including our tabletop resin, which will make every job you pour come out perfectly. We have two types of Tabletop epoxy, with one that will give you a super hard D90 resin finishing once fully cured, Ultra-Fast Resin, and the other being our Resinzwood Crystal Clear Tabletop resin that is a little softer with a hardness of D80 to D85.
FAQs
Why are Resinzwood Passionart resins better than other brands?
Resinzwood Epoxy Resins have been specifically formulated using the Highest Quality Shore E Basics for the starting compound with additives added for specific resin formulations from Art Resin to Tabletop and Deep Pour resins. Resinzwood and Passionart resins have the highest amount of High Quality UV additives without compromising the hardness or other attributes of our resins. Typically we add 7.5% UV additive. See our posts about UV additives.

Why are Resinzwood and Passionart resins cheaper than other brands?
Our resins are cheaper than other brands for a number of reasons listed below.
- With NZ made resins being, OceanCast, Multi-Sealer, Ultra-Fast, Knot Hole resin we import the raw components in a huge volume that lowers the cost even though our labour cost is higher for production.
- With our imported resins that are made to our specifications once again it comes to volumes imported. Our China partner company gives us exceptional rates that will only get better in 2025.
- Selling resins and other products is not our core business as Resin Wood Tables NZ is as we make furnishings that require only the very best products to be used. It makes sense to sell these products increasing our buying capabilities for our core business.
- We do not waste money on advertising campaigns as we grow organically. This allows us to invest in our customers giving them better value for money. With every order we add extra free product as a thankyou for supporting our business.
Do you give extra product with every order?
Yes you will find that with every order you place you will receive gifts that may include but not limited to pastes, powders, dyes or a combination of goods depending on volumes purchased.
Why do I have extra resin or hardener left over from a kit?
Generally, we add more product than is required to each container, so you may find that after a few purchases, you accumulate more of one than the other. Have a spare container and keep filling it with that type of resin or hardener, then purchase what you need by contacting Paul on 021966387
Can I purchase Part A Resin or Part B Hardener separately?
Yes you can purchase part A or part B of any of the resins should you need to. This can occur as sometimes mistakes are made, or the volumes in each bottle may be greater than the other. Currently just contact Paul on 021966387. We will have the ability to purchase part A or B of any resin on our website soon

The Ocean-Cast epoxy is pourable up to 35mm at a time, with expert applicators able to pour larger volumes deeper using alternative techniques that we will go in-depth with in a post. Resinzwood OceanCast 100 is coming. This resin will be able to be poured up to 100mm deep in river tables as well as up to 200mm deep in castings and small jobs. Passionart Artists Resin or Art Resin1 to 1 by volume ratio product that comes in 1 litre, 2 litre, and 4 litre kits is perfect for small castings pouring up to 60mm deep, art pieces, coasters, jewellery, along with boards, etc. Passionart 2 to 1 by weight is our other Art Resin with similar attributes to the one-to-one, but slightly different formulations that many prefer. This is a matter of seeing what resin formulation is best for yourself. One again, uses include arts and crafts, coasters, jewellery, table tops, etc.
Resinzwood Knot Hole Resin can be used for multiple applications from filling pesky knot holes to applying up to a 5mm coating over your boards or artwork but I strongly advise you to us each resin for its recommended purpose to achieve the best results.
UV PROTECTION
Resin FAQs We have sourced the highest quality resins from across the globe, making the Ocean-Cast, Ultra-Fast, Multi-Sealer, Knot Hole resin right here in NZ. The 1 to 1 and 2 to 1 Art resins we have made in China to our strict specifications for ultimate performance, as well as having the highest quality UV additives in our epoxy resins at the highest amount possible, from 5.7 to 7.8%. These are costly additives compared to many companies like the stuff you see on Trademe for $20 bucks a litre that proclaim they have non-yellowing additives. A non-yellowing additive is either a blue dye that tricks the eye into not seeing the gradual yellowing of the epoxy, or the additive they use is of poor quality, up to 2.5% to 3.5%
