The River Tables that we used to make at Resin Wood Tables NZ have evolved significantly over the past decade. The construction and finishing of River Tables back then was a time-consuming endeavor. The video below shows how much time, effort, and cost went into the final sanding and polishing process compared to today's method. With the use of our superior resin, Resinzwood Ultra-Fast, the process has been revolutionized. Once you pour it, you are done, saving you from the laborious tasks of the past and providing you with a finished product in a fraction of the time.
Making River Tables a Decade ago
Over a decade ago, along with the years following, I was searching for the best products to craft my tables, but all of them on the current market had their faults, with most of the techniques that were used costing a lot of money and time. With my larger river tables, I used to use a lot of gravel or stones to pack out the rivers to save on resin costs, but this added a huge amount of weight to each table. Then, when we came to the final pour, it was a matter of starting with 600-grit sandpaper and moving through to 7500-grit, followed by many hours of laborious cutting and polishing compounds.
