Are you considering a custom-built resin wood table? "Well, if you are, you have landed on the right website as Resinzwood Limited, Resin Wood Tables NZ are the leaders in Aotearoa New Zealand for handcrafted, custom-made tables and furnishings. Resinzwood has been hand-crafting bespoke artisan furnishings since 2013, honing our skills and creative theme concepts that range from simplistic, elegant tables with solid colours to jaw-dropping ocean theme, to live bubbling and smoking lava tables. If you have an idea in mind, we would love to hear it and offer you a no-obligation estimate to handcraft your custom-built resin wood table.

You may be thinking that such a table would be hugely expensive, but we believe that you will be pleasantly surprised at the build cost for one of our masterpiece tables that only ever increase in value, especially if it has been crafted from Ancient Swamp Kauri. Resin Wood Tables NZ has a huge stockpile of Swamp Kauri that has been carbon dated at 55,000 years old, which was unearthed from Northland, New Zealand. Most companies are selling Swamp Kauri for $5500. to $ 10,000 per cubic meter, but we have structured our pricing to be $ 3,500.00 per cubic meter if you wish to purchase a slab, down to $ 2,500.00 per cubic meter if we hand-craft a table for you. We also have other slabs of Swamp Kauri that are priced higher and have come from the root section of the tree, as this section exhibits the most swirling and shimmering characteristics and is in very short supply.

Let's Talk Timber for a Custom-built Resin Wood Table

When you are thinking about a custom-built resin wood table, the first place to start is considering the type of timber you would like to have, from the basic run-of-the-mill Macrocarpa timber through to the exquisite exotic Swamp Kauri timber that is highly prized and sought after. Believe it or not, Resin Wood Tables NZ can craft you a Swamp Kauri table for the same price you would pay for a bare wood table, as we have a massive stockpile of Swamp Kauri waiting to be skilfully crafted by our small professional team of Artisans.

Timbers We Can Offer You

  • Swamp Kauri - is a highly valued timber only found in Aotearoa, New Zealand. Our nationalSwamp Kauri Timber taonga, which lies beneath the earth, was formed from prehistoric kauri trees that were buried and preserved in peat swamps for thousands of years, dating back to the last Ice Age. The preservation process has given the wood its distinctive characteristics, including rich colours and intricate grain patterns. Ancient Kauri is sustainably harvested, as it's sourced from naturally fallen trees that have been preserved underground, with permits obtained from MPI.
  • Macrocarpa - also known as Monterey Cypress is a softwood grown in New Zea;land for timber and shelterbelts across the country. It is a durable, medium-density timber with a fine texture, known for its golden-brown heartwood and attractive appearance. Macrocarpa is versatile and used in various applications, including construction, furniture, and landscaping
  • Totara - (Podocarpus totara) is a large evergreen native to New Zealand being a member ofKaikaka Totara the podocarp family. Well known for its durable, reddish timber. The tree is highly valued in Māori culture and has been used for construction, carving, and the making of canoes. Totara can be a bit problematic at times, but we know how to craft this excellent wood to its full potential.
  • Kaikaka Totara - "Kaikaka" refers to the heartwood, especially that can be classed as defective to some. This timber is typically used for fence posts. "Kaikaka" is associated with a disease that affects the heartwood of living Totara trees, causing decay. It also creates a natural beauty that we craft into amazing tables and wall art. I love to craft this timber simply for its natural rustic beauty.
  • Walnut - Walnut is a hardwood. It's a strong, durable, and versatile wood, highly valued for furniture making, cabinetry, and other applications where both beauty and durability are desired. This wood is in minimal supply, as well as being very expensive.

Table Coatings Finishes

Let's look at some of the many ways we can craft your custom-built resin wood table.custom made resin wood table, Kaleidoscope theme

  • A table that is fully resin-coated and can be either glossy or a matt finish, - High gloss is most popular
  • A custom-built resin wood table that is resin-coated and sanded back, then finished with Osmo oil - The finish can range from matt to medium gloss. By applying a resin coating first, we can provide the timber with an extra layer of durability, protecting it from bending, splitting, or cracking over time, while still allowing you to experience the natural feel of a wood table.
  • A table that has either a solid colour, a transparent colour, or clear resin. Solid colours or combinations of solid colours on the base and clear on top, allowing you to see the upper third of the timber sides, are the most popular options.
  • A table that has waterfall ends. This is a process whereby we use a giant slab to craft the table, which is a costly option, as our company only ever makes three of these for offshore clients.
  • Solid wood frames add more resale value, going by our clients' feedback. We can also customise the wooden legs with inserted colours or memorabilia.
  • Steel frames are a cheaper option than timber frames unless you are looking at a one-off custom-made frame from stainless steel or brass, for example.
  • Timber selection available includes Totara, Kaikaka Totara, Macrocarpa, and Swamp Kauri, which is generally considered the most exotic timber globally, as well as, in most cases, the most expensive. We are Swamp Kauri specialists, and we can craft your table out of Swamp Kauri that is 55,000 years old, at a cost that is more affordable than creating a table from a basic timber like Macrocarpa. We can obtain other timbers, such as Black Walnut, but the supply is minimal, and the cost is exorbitant.
  • Lighting options are available with loads of concepts that we can discuss with you, fromcustom-built resin wood table lava voice-activated to other programmed sequences that fit the mood of your custom-built resin wood table environment.
  • We can incorporate sound sequences to complement the effects of a smoke machine if you are going for an interactive volcanic theme.

Why make your table investment from RESINZWOOD

We have been in the business of crafting resin tables for over 13 years, with 100% positive feedback from our clients. We craft our tables to the highest specifications possible, delivering you an heirloom, handcrafted piece that generally only increases in value, especially when made from Swamp Kauri timber. We guarantee our tables for ten years, with only one issue reported, which was due to an atmospheric issue that we learned from back in 2018. With a few of our tables, we have invested ten to twenty hours of extra time, at no additional cost, to ensure that our product leaves our shop perfect, as our craft is a passion for my small team of highly skilled craftsmen.

We do not provide quotes for custom-built resin wood table, as we believe this would be unfair to both ourselves and our clients. This is because we cannot accurately determine the exact volumes of resin that will be used. Additionally, many clients prefer to make changes during the process of having us craft their tables. When we estimate and find out we have overestimated, we always advise our clients that a product value deduction will be applied to their final invoice. It is seldom that we are out by a ten percent margin of error.

Pros and Cons

  • Fully gloss tables finished with our Shore D90 Ultra Fast epoxy are the hardest-wearing, impact-resistant finish we offer.
  • Fully resin-coated tables are very durable, do not mark with water or wine poured on them, and they are easy to maintain and keep looking great with a polish
  • Fully resin tables that are badly scratched or damaged over time are straightforward to repair, which can be done by our company or by our clients with our guidance
  • Osmo and other oil-finished tables are susceptible to damage easily from water marks, impact, and heat, but they are perfect if looked after and re-oiled occasionally.
  • Steel frames are the cheaper option, whereas solid timber frames we handcraft are timeless and can be customised with amazing inserts or technical designs. Generally, we have found that these frames, especially in Swamp Kauri suites, only increase in value.
  • Every piece of timber I have hand-picked myself, knowing its journey through the ages from the region it came from, age, along with the person who milled it, to the finished product that we put in a video for you at the end of your project. This gives you an extra piece of history that you can share with friends and family whilst enjoying time around your Resinzwood table.

Build Times

Generally, we estimate a three-month build time for our clients, unless we need to collect a custom slab of Kauri, for example, from our Far North property, which we then kiln-dry in our custom kiln to achieve the desired 9% moisture content. Table frames are also made during.
