What Is Colour Passion Base Cell White?
Colour Passion Base Cell White contains a high level of Titanium, a unique paste developed by Kym Gow of Colour Passion Australia. The primary function of this base cell is designed to be a bottom layer application that will push through the other colours you have on top of it to generate unique cells in your art to do Dirty Pours. Base Cell will form thicker cells where the resin is thicker and create more lacing where the upper resin layers are thinner.
Base Cell Meaning
Base cell, quite simply, means it is designed as a foundation to be applied first to your canvas or board in your Passionart Resin Art project.
Epoxy Pigment Paste
With all of Colour Passion, Passionart, and Resinzwood products that contain an epoxy pigment base, you can rest assured that they are of the highest quality. These are high-quality colourants that are used to form a thick colour in the form of a paste that will transform your resin art to a new level.
Creating Cells
Colour Passion Base Cell White, used with other colourants, creates a unique cell-like structure as it pushes its way up through the layers of those colours from the base. Cell creation comes in many forms, as when you use Top Cell white, you can create lacing as you would for crafting the effects of waves, etc. Altering the temperature or using other mediums such as Isopropyl Alcohol or different weighted silicone oils can also create stunning, unique cells.
Bottom Layer Application
The bottom layer application is rather self-explanatory, as it is the first layer that you will apply to your canvas or art board that will penetrate through the other colours that are on top of it, creating unique visual effects every time.
Cell Formation
Cell formation means creating cells that form from the bottom layer upwards, giving you amazing effects. Using too much base cell white can be overpowering, so I advise using different amounts each time you do this application, deciding for yourself what you think is best for your creative resin art pieces.
Thickness and Lacing
Thickness and Lacing can vary depending on the type and quality of resin that you use. Our Passionart 1:1 Art Resin is specifically designed for the use of cell creation, along with our Passionart 2:1 Art Resin, which will give a similar but slightly different effect. Resin thickens as it starts to exotherm and cure, so that you will see in some of our tutorials with the likes of wave formation, we advise having the white wave resin at 36.5 degrees Celsius to ensure the optimum outcome. As mentioned above, thicker resin equates to larger cells, whereas thinner resin equates to finer and thinner cells.
